   Alpha ScrollTyvek, marker, cloth, thread, wood, PVA glue 6 x 5¼ x 5¼ (unrolls to over 126) © 2013 edtion size: unique $ 725The title “Alpha Scroll” is based on the idea of being first and on the idea of an alphabet. The sequence of images can be viewed as a narrative in the manner of a comic book. On careful inspection the reader may notice alphabet letters showing through from a layer underneath the images. It turns out that each image corresponds to the thing that gave rise to a corresponding ancient Cretan pictograph which in turn evolved into a Greek and then Roman alphabet letter.
