A Sense of Placevellum paper, artist’s own images, book board and handmade papers 3 ½ x 5 x 1 (closed), 3 ½ x 12 (circular open) © 2010 SOLD This seven section starbook has a hand-stitched binding, constructed of layers of handmade papers and images of my mountain home taken on medium format film with a Holga camera. The images were transferred onto translucent vellum, and the book glows with light. I wanted to convey the all-encompassing horizon we enjoy in our mountain valley, the sense of being surrounded and held in the cupped hands of the Rocky Mountains. |
