“When I was three, I was jumping on a bed. I fell, smacked my eye on the bedpost and got a black eye.
I think that is why my right eye is smaller than my left. This is one of many memories that inspire my work. My Becoming is a series of miniature mixed media books that depict events, feelings, and people in my life. I have a need to preserve and share them. This series invites people to look into my memories and have them remember their own. All images are drawn or borrowed from family photos taken by myself of other family members; book 27/50 contains partial image from the book The Gas We Pass by Shinta Cho. The words are my own except book 27/50 contains an excerpt from The Gas We Pass.”
