Judith Hoffman San Mateo, California In my Dreams We travel in Boats
“I often use my dreams as inspiration. They are a parallel life where I see dinosaurs and can fly. This book was inspired by several poetic dreams I had of flying in the sky with my family in large white boats. These boats have no motors, or oars. They are the size of the lifeboats found on large ships. Sometimes my whole family is reunited, both the living and the dead. When I made the sky red, I was thinking of some medieval paintings and the colors I see when I close my eyes.“ Accordion fold book, built on a brass framework. Pages are hinged with artist-made brass hinges. The drawings on paper are mounted on with brass rivets.
