One Soul

“I have been working in clay making sculptural pieces addressing the plight of endangered species. It occured to me that I might explore using my coptic bound books as an interactive element. Thus far, my books have been blank journals, but the wooden coveres lend themselves so well to sculptural form. I chose to use collage which allows me to bring together text, images, and various elements such as found metal, leaves, and feathers. Part of the book remains blank to encourage a dialogue with the viewer.”
