Alphabook: A Celebration of Letters
Book cloth and Somerset Book Wove paper 10 x 61/2 x 1/4 closed, 10 x 111/4 open edition of 30 © 2011 - SOLD The book contains 26 letters that were originally hand drawn, cut into linoleum and then letterpress printed by University of Arkansas Fort Smith students. All of the artwork was done by hand. Only the text underneath was done with plates. The book structure is a traditional codex and the cover of this book was hand crafted by Kristen Catlett. Text by Adam Brandt, Erica Buneo, Kristen Catlett, Daniel Cerda, Amanda Holland, Sarah Graham, Lois LaBuda, Melissa Robertson, Malinda Sigmon, and Katie Harper, Instructor Kristen Catlett is a senior at the University of Arkansas Fort Smith, working toward her graphic design major. She currently resides in Booneville, Arkansas. Even as a child, she has always been involved in art of some form and drew inspiration from nature, world history, and the classic artists of the past. Recently she has taken classes in the university’s letterpress shop, Underground Ink. |
