Gayle Gerson

Grand Junction, Colorado

I have been lucky enough to be able to attend life drawing sessions fairly regularly for over 10 years. In fact, I first learned to see and draw by closely observing the human figure. I feel it is the best way to learn the eye/hand connections because I am also reacting to the presence of another person and trying to best represent that presence. There is a whole lot going on in that process. It’s a huge learning curve. Gayle Gerson was born in Troy, New York in 1948. She received a BA degree in secondary education from SUNY at Albany in 1970. After traveling with her husband and raising two children, she earned a Masters degree in School Counseling in 1995. In 1999, after years of dabbling, she began to work full time in developing a career in fine art, specializing in collage and watermedia and, most recently, oil.
