This work is part of an on-going series in which I explore the human need to quantify the world, the drive to count and name everything as a show of control. In making these works I take existing popular science books and re-configure them into objects that reveal the content of the text and images in a new way. The subject matter of the book determines the final reconstructed form. All of the books I alter are destined for recycling: I give them a second life.
Pages are cut and folded into Froebel stars and are contained in three hand made boxes.
