handmade paper, ephemera of 11x14 framed © 2007 $ 800 “In my work I often use the found object. Collecting ephemera and other of life’s artifacts has been a part of my life since childhood. What intrigues me about these relics is not only the mysteries which surround them but by removing the image from its original context, a new reality is created with multiple readings. There is a joy in discovering how seemingly unconnected pieces of ephemera, when combined, can be transformed, thus given a new life. It is inspiring when this metamorphosis occurs. I enjoy the spontaneity as I explore and discover new meanings to these discarded and found artifacts.” Books are mixed media with a coptic binding in miniature book form.
