This is one of many books that I have created while traveling to 60 countries. I have been to all parts of Asia, visiting some countries like Thailand, several times. While on site I do small, postcard size watercolors of the land, people or architecture. These are my souvenirs. They help me to focus and become very familiar with a place. I make journal entries about where I am and sometimes write short poems. When I return home I find a way to bind the paintings into a book often accompanied by a box of objects from the areas visited.

Original watercolors from trips throughout Asia combined with travel journal entries. Concertina folded pages which when fully open can hang on wall to see entire journal at once. When folded fits in wooden box with cut leather insert. Travel journal entries and watercolors by the artist.

Mary-Ellen Campbell lives in Manhattan and maintains a studio in rural New York. She is a Full Professor in Communication Design in the Art Department at New Jersey City University in Jersey City, New Jersey, where she has taught for thirty years. She is currently working on several editions of her books of poetry.
