As a person periodically suffering from depression, I identified the need for a toolbox to help me get through and surmount days of endless hours when getting out of bed is nearly impossible. My life is sane and balanced now, and I am using this calm time to prepare for a time when the “other shoe drops” and I am unable to take command of my ship as it traverses dark and choppy seas.

Journal consists of drawings in pencil and ink on drawing paper and is enclosed in a box covered with paper. Text by Cheryl Bailey or material from Dialectical Behavior Therapy handbook; photos either found images or by Cheryl Bailey. The box is filled with projects, such as a space to draw a teapot and spoon after having a cup of tea with supplied teabag. Places to list helpful people and professionals are included.
