This started as a personal journey/journal, but I decided to publish the images after positive response from several women to whom I showed it. I chose 50 images, which covered not just the actual breast cancer experience, but childhood and young adulthood experiences which i felt may have had an impact on my journey to cancer. I elected not to add words, so some images may be rather enigmatic or confusing.

Colour-photocopies of watercolour paintings and coloured pencil drawings done after discovering that the artist had breast cancer. The binding reproduces the tiny sketchbook used for the originals.

Lise Melhorn-Boe was born in Noranda, Quebec and attended high school in Copper Cliff, Ontario. Both are towns with smelters. Melhorn-Boe has been making and exhibiting books and sculptural bookworks for over twenty-five years. She received her MFA degree from Wayne State University in Detroit. She has exhibited widely across Canada and the United States as well as Europe and South America.
