I created The Show Me State, A Fourth of July Missouri Adventure because I wanted to create a visual journal with the ephemera I collected on a trip this year to Perryville, Missouri. I was inspired by the activities we did including eating out at local restaurants, trying exotic foods, climbing, fishing, camping, floating down a river, four wheeling, swimming, playing with fireworks, finding old artifacts, and antique shopping. I collected fliers everywhere I went and journaled the experiences. These were my tools in creating this altered book.

Journaling by Cassandra Stampados with a poem appropriated and credited from Jimmy Feathers. drawings and assemblages by Cassandra Stampados.

Cassandra Stampados earned her BFA in Metalsmithing and Jewelry Design, from Metropolitan State College in Denver, Colorado in 2009. This past June, she sold her Leo Constellation Lavender Vessel at the Metal Vessel competition at Naja in Denver, Colorado.
