This hand made journal is bound with torn rag strips, each page is collaged with found papers, objects, ink, stencils, hand carved stamps, and words.

 

I am a mixed media artist who works primarily with paper, fiber, paint, and photography to create multi-layered collage canvases, visual journals, and mixed media experiments. I seek to mine inner gems of consciousness by accessing the right intuitive brain through color and image.

 

Emily Townsend holds degrees in fine arts, and in architecture, all from the University of Maryland. She has taught graphics and fine arts in New Jersey, and in Maryland. She has also worked as an art director, designing books, websites, magazines and print graphics.
