Visual journals have been a part of my art for many years as I travel away from home. I try to work each day on a journey making an image and text that relates to the experience of that particular day. I avoid returning to a past entry to add or correct.

Mary Ellen Long is a visual artist who lives in Durango, Colorado and exhibits widely. A traveling exhibit Roots has been shown at Land Gallery in Albuquerque, New Mexico, 2010, and the Durango Arts Center, 2011.
