Traveling exhibition of works combining physical threads with narrative content.

Eligibility and Media
This exhibition is open to individual artists 18 years of age or older, or collaborative teams. Eligible are any artist book works or wall works that use threads or fibers as a primary element. Works may be editioned or unique, sculptural or more traditionally bound, interactive or passive.

A maximum of two works may be submitted per artist or collaborative team. If your work requires special installation, please inquire before submitting your entry to be certain the venues will accommodate work installation requirements.

Exhibition Fees
PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE CONTINUING

There is no fee to submit work to this exhibit. There is an exhibition fee of $40 for each work that is selected for the exhibition series. Exhibition fees are used to cover costs associated with insurance, transport between venues, preparing both an online and print catalog of the exhibition, marketing, display signage, display materials and special events. Exhibition fee is non-refundable.

Submission Process
Submission for this exhibition is by file upload only. To upload your entries please click here.

Please send gallery quality images without background clutter or text. DO NOT send composite images or images with embedded text. If your work is accepted for exhibition, the images you enter with as well as the text you provide will be used for print & digital publicity. Images not up to gallery quality will be excluded from publicity, including online & print catalogs.

Please note that you will not be able to change any information submitted at time of entry, including the price, after the submission process.

Selection Process
Selections will be made by Alicia Bailey, Director, Abecedarian Artists’ Books.

Sales
It is expected that all work exhibited be for sale. Sales will be encouraged. Abecedarian Gallery retains 40% on all sales. The prices you submit during the entry process are the retail prices the gallery will adhere to throughout the duration of the exhibition.

Catalogs
Both a print and online color catalog will produced for this. Print catalogs will be for sale during and after the exhibition. The online catalog will remain online during and after the exhibition. Artists whose work is accepted will receive a complimentary catalog as electronic PDF.

Selected Works
Work must be delivered ready for installation/display. Gallery reserves the right not to exhibit any work not accurately represented by the digital entry, arrives damaged, is not properly prepared for exhibition or is deemed too fragile for effective display.

Shipping
All shipping & shipping insurance costs to & from Abecedarian Artists’ Books are the responsibility of the artist. Between venue transport is covered by Abecedarian Artists’ Books. Shipping instructions will be sent to accepted artists on payment of exhibition fee.

Conditions
It is expected that submitting artists are not violating any stated or implied relationship with another gallery or dealer by submitting work for this exhibiton and that the artist/creator of the work is not in violation of any copyright laws.

Agreement
Submission of entry constitutes agreement to all conditions in this prospectus.
The artist agrees that images and descriptive text of selected artwork may be used by Abecedarian Artists’ Books and/or exhbition venues for promotions and publications.
