This body of graphic work is the result of inheriting a photo album from my deceased Aunt Emmy.
I had this album in my studio for a long time before I opened it again.
Pictures of friends, places and landscapes I did not know.
Written memories and emotions that I was able to read but had never experienced.
These circumstances moved me to renew the photo(graphic) pages, to draw on them, to paint on them. To graphically answer to experiences I had never had. Photos torn out, photos painted over, texts painted over, and text fragments left to stand alone. An attempt to create a connection to a person one used to know. An attempt to layer my world and my graphic emotions over my aunt’s past.
Aunt Emmy (2010-2011)
