A dried poppy petal mounted under tracing paper appears on the first page; an original poem by Margaret Langhans sets the tone for the pictures. Images themselves are of the iceland poppy, but move well beyond the botanical, challenging our perceptions of them, captured by a play of light and movement and expressed as line, shape and tonality. |
