A Real Fighting ManHahnemuhle Bugra, Mohawk cover stock, Mohawk text-weight papers, Davey board 6 ½ x 4 x ½ (closed) 6 ½ x 22 (open) © 2012 I printed A Real Fighting Man in the summer of 2012, after spending a few days with my grandfather and looking through some snapshots of him serving in Korea. The cover images are reduction linocuts based on two of these snapshots, while the spine image and flags are archival inkjet prints. The text is letterpress printed. The book attempts to convey my grandfather’s struggle to regain a sense of normalcy after facing the horrors of war.
